A Pageant of the Masters volunteer has her makeup applied before going on stage.

If you enjoy the spotlight and can you stand still for 90 seconds, you could qualify as a volunteer cast-member in the 2012 Pageant of the Masters.

The production is auditioning for men, women and children to volunteer for next summer’s show on Saturday, Jan. 7 and 12 from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 8 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Pageant director Diane Challis Davy commented, “It takes over 500 volunteers, both onstage and behind-the-scenes, to put on the Pageant. We wouldn’t have a show without our volunteers!  They have so much fun backstage, volunteers return year after year to participate.”

Pageant volunteers are also needed for positions in the wardrobe, make up, and headdress departments, as well as cast area coordinators and refreshment servers, among other positions.

All auditions are at the Irvine Bowl, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

People of all sizes and ages are needed to be cast members in the tableaux vivants or “living pictures.”
