Detectives Recover Stolen Jewelry

Detectives received a tip about the whereabouts of property stolen from a Mar Vista Drive home earlier in the month where teens had partied in the owner’s absence and arrested an 18-year-old from Aliso Viejo on Friday, Oct. 26, Laguna Beach police said.
John Salazar was taken into custody at his Aliso Viejo home for suspicion of possessing stolen property after police seized $11,000 in jewelry about 9 a.m., Capt. Jason Kravetz said. Salazar’s father had secured the jewelry in a home safe after finding it in his son’s room, he said. Kravetz said no additional arrests are anticipated.
A witness left voicemails describing a male suspect driving his neighbor’s Maserati and Ford SUV while he was out of the country. The homeowner returned to find his home in disarray, including empty liquor bottles and property missing, police said.
Strippers’ Clients Claim They Were Threatened
Two men that had hired two female strippers to perform at a bachelor’s party called police to Glenneyre Street at 4:38 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, following an argument with the women’s bodyguard, who allegedly pulled out a gun, according to police.
The caller told police the strippers failed to finish their performance and left in a separate vehicle from the bodyguard after being paid, Capt. Jason Kravetz said. No one was arrested, he said.

Traffic stop. 1:40 a.m. Cress St. Shannon May Ferreira, 27, of Huntington Beach was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. Her bail was set at $10,000 due to a previous DUI offense.
Traffic stop. Coast Hwy. 3:11 p.m. Francis Larry Falasco, 59, of El Monte, lying on a blanket next to a shopping cart, was taken into custody for four outstanding Los Angeles County vandalism warrants totaling $176,000.
Vandalism. 31700 block of Coast Hwy. 9:56 p.m. For the second time this month, tires were reported slashed.
Tuesday, Oct. 23
Traffic stop. Broadway. 1:52 a.m. A 29-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2500.
Fraud. 1200 block of Temple Hills Dr. 12:56 p.m. A resident suspects someone he knows filed tax returns using his identity during the previous two years to collect refund checks of an unspecified amount.
Traffic stop. Wesley Dr. 11:46 p.m. A 35-year-old Lake Forest resident was cited for DUI and held for $15,000 bail.

Traffic stop. 2900 Laguna Canyon Rd. 12.45 a.m. As a result of a witness reporting a swerving vehicle, a 34-year-old Santa Ana woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Vandalism. 400 block of Bluebird Canyon Rd. 9 a.m. A political sign was reported kicked in.
Thursday, Oct. 25
Traffic stop. Carmelita St. A 28-year-old Laguna Beach man was cited for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 2:26 a.m. 2200 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. A 25-year-old Anaheim man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Burglary. 2500 Solana Way. 1:47 p.m. A new tenant thinks his landlord has broken into the apartment he moved into recently.
Friday, Oct. 26
Vehicle burglary. 1600 block Sunset Ridge Dr. 9:45 a.m. A resident reported that someone rummaged through an unlocked vehicle overnight, though nothing was discovered missing.
Detective activity. Adelanto Dr., Laguna Niguel. 1:47 p.m. A 16-year-old male from Laguna Niguel was detained for selling a controlled substance. He was detained without bail. No further details were available.
Traffic collision. El Toro Rd. 4:55 p.m. The northbound onramp to state Highway 73 was blocked due to a two-vehicle collision; two people were transported to different hospitals for treatment of injuries.
Missing person. PD. 7:35 p.m. A son who typically contacts his mother once a week has not heard from her since Sept. 11 and filed a missing person report. She hasn’t had a fixed address for five years and lives in various hotels, the log says.
Traffic stop. Legion St. 10:32 p.m. A 29-year-old Laguna Beach man was cited for DUI and held for $10,000 bail.

Traffic stop. Montage resort. 12:51 a.m. A 24-year-old Lake Forest man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
