Tuesday, Sept. 6

Brandishing a weapon. 1:21 a.m. 100 block of N. Coast Highway. Dustin Michael Nalwalker, 23, of Laguna Beach, was taken into custody for suspicion of making terrorist threats and brandishing a weapon and was held for $50,000 bail. He allegedly pulled out a knife and verbally threatened a gas station clerk with harm.

Theft. 9:56 a.m. 1900 block of Temple Hills Dr. Two cameras worth $1,000 were taken from a garage.

Animal calls. 1:22 p.m. 600 block of Coast Highway. Animal control officers posted a note to the building’s owner over concerns expressed by citizens about aquarium fish in the closed restaurant.

Traffic stop. 2:11 p.m. Coast and West St. A Redding woman, 21, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Burglary. 6:34 p.m. 3100 block of Ceanothus Dr. A resident who was away returned to find parts of his home ransacked and $14,000 in jewelry missing.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

Vandalism. 8:12 a.m. 30500 block of Grandview Terrace. Someone burned a car with cigarette butts and stole a ladder.

Vehicle burglary. 12:08 p.m. Laguna Canyon Wilderness Park. A ranger discovered a car break in.

Fraud. 3:56 p.m. 200 block of Forest Ave. A man attempting to pass a fake $100 bill fled when a clerk questioned him about the bill.

Thursday, Sept. 8

Foot patrol. 5:35 a.m. 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Nestor Lopez Gatchalian, of Santa Ana, was arrested on a no-bail parole warrant.

Vandalism. 4:24 p.m. 20000 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. A car was keyed.

Fire. 4:25 p.m. 20500 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Two separate fires were reported on Old City Dump Rd and under the power lines.

Pedestrian hit. 9:51 p.m. 300 block of Cliff Dr. and North Coast Highway. A 37-year-old Illinois man suffered moderate injuries after being struck by a vehicle southbound on Coast Highway. He was thrown atop a vehicle waiting to turn left, suffering head and arm lacerations.

Transient. 10:11 p.m. Coast Highway. John William Noah, 36, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for felony assault with a caustic chemical and held for $50,000 bail. Without provocation, Noah allegedly sprayed mace into the face of a man walking near the movie theater.

Friday, Sept. 9

Fraud. 11:31 a.m. 800 block of Summit Dr. The victim learned that a female suspect used his social security number in order to open a Time Warner Cable account for an apartment in Corona.

Saturday, Sept. 10

Traffic stop. 12:55 a.m. 120 S. Coast Hwy. Timothy Andrew McAlevey, 33, Costa Mesa, was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.

Traffic stop. 2:13 a.m. Broadway. A 42-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

DUIs. Laguna Canyon Rd. Citizens reported a drunk in-bound driver. Christian Cervantes, 32, of Fontana was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $50,000 bail due to four prior DUIs. Passenger and parolee Pomona resident Arthur Gutierrez, 32, was held for an outstanding resisting arrest warrant.
