Student Athletes Commit to College Sports

At least 13 LBHS student athletes will pursue collegiate level competition, having committed to NCAA participation agreements in their chosen sport.

“These student athletes represent the best of the best at Laguna Beach High School,” said Athletic Director Mike Churchill. “They have excelled on the field of competition and in the classroom. We are very proud of them and wish them all the best of luck in college.”

The athletes include: Samer Alkateb, in water polo for UC Santa Barbara; Yoshiye Andersen, also in water polo, Harvard University; Katharine Barton, rowing, for Harvard; Avery Bush, volleyball, Loyola Marymount University; Erik Henrikson, water polo, John Hopkins; Caroline Holte, volleyball, Harvard; Rachele Killian, volleyball, Brown; Melena Masson, waterpolo, Stanford; Nolan McConnell, water polo, Cal State Long Beach; Lauren Michaels, tennis, Cornell; Allison Palmer, volleyball, Arizona State; Marina Paul, soccer, Georgetown; and Thomas Renner, waterpolo, Johns Hopkins.
