The Healing Hands youth from Laguna Beach and San Clemente high schools will hold an Educate a Child for the Holidays event at Transformation at Gallery 1951, 1951 S. Coast Highway, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, to help educate African children in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
The students will be selling gift certificates from $25 to $100 to educate a Burkina Faso child for one to four years. All of the proceeds from the gift certificates will go to the children’s education and 50 percent of the proceeds from art purchases during the event will also be donated to the fund in the buyer’s name.
Entertainment will be provided by Burkina Faso drummer Dramane Kone, and featured artists will include Ryan Carter, Kelly Walker, Ole Olofson, Patti Meyers, Stephanie Paige, Lee Jordan, Tom Lamb and Terrell Washington Anansi.
