The Sawdust Art Festival hosted a group of students from the Project Access Family Resource Center at Warwick Square Apartments, a low-income housing community in Santa Ana, to participate in a unique class to provide a first-hand experience creating art with professional artists.

This is the fourth annual collaboration and 10 students participated on two days in August to learn about realism and abstract art. The classes were taught by exhibitor and sculptor Shamus Koch of Laguna Beach.

Last month, The Warwick Youth Center showcased the student work of whimsical wire sculptures.

For many of the students, this was the first opportunity to experience and learn about professional grade art
