Looking for ways to make a positive impact, Thurston Middle School’s leadership class began a new program, Students Performing Unselfish Deeds (SPUD).
One of their SPUD Committee’s first projects was at the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, where they learned the importance of dog treats.
Students turned over 35 bags of dog treats to shelter manager Nancy Goodwin, who expressed appreciation for the donation.
This spring, SPUD will initiate a school-wide collection to assist abandoned pets at the O.C. Animal Shelter.
