The Rotary Club recently honored Macklin Thornton as the Laguna Beach High School’s Student of the Month for January.
He was accompanied by his history instructor Kristin Cowles.
Macklin is active in the high school marching band, wind ensemble, Model United Nations, and is in the National Honors Society. Outside of school he is a Caravan leader, a middle school youth group, and Juntos, a group that specializes in literacy education.
He was honored with a certificate of recognition and will receive a scholarship at the Honors Convocation at the end of this school year.
