A total of 27 students form Thurston Middle School and Top of the World Elementary School participated in the Destination Imagination Instant Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 9, says a district statement.
The competition required teams to use critical thinking to solve open-ended challenges in various academic areas. “It was quite impressive,” said TMS teacher Bjorn Avila and club co-advisor. “As students rotated to new challenges, they learned from their mistakes and utilized their team managers’ feedback to improve.”
Thurston will host the official regional Destination Imagination Team Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 27. The top three teams in six categories will move to the state tournament in March.
