Top surfers from Laguna Beach went up against those from San Clemente, Dana Hills and Newport Harbor during the individual league final surfing championships held at Upper Trestles in San Clemente on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 18-19.
In boys short board, four Laguna boys made it to the semi-final. Zach Levine and Trey Lockhart narrowly missed the finals with a seventh finish. Travis Booth and Jeremy Shutts also made the semi-finals, ripping to ninth. Jake Levine, Liam McCue and Noah North made it to the quarter finals.
The girls short board, along with girls and boys longboard and bodyboard, all gave it their best shot.
Kayla Coscino, impressive in her freshman year, nearly took it all, finishing second overall while Claire Kelly also did well, making the final and taking fifth.
In girls long board, Lola Fisher took a solid fifth and Megan Mathews taking sixth in the finals.
Boys body board and long board competitors Cole Fink, Jameson Roller and Gaal Shonfeld just missed the finals.
