A man in his 60s wearing board shorts and posing as a customer exposed himself to a 16-year-old female clerk in a Laguna Beach surf shop on Sunday, Nov. 18, and his suspicions actions in two other nearby surf shops prompted shopkeepers to make similar complaints, police reported.
Police searched the area without success after receiving the initial report from the 900 block of S. Coast Highway about 1:53 p.m., Sgt. Louise Callus said.
“His MO was to claim he was an entertainer and needed some clothing quickly. He would collect a large amount of clothing and leave the dressing room door either completely open or ajar. He would speak to the female employees, continually trying to get them close to the dressing room, and ask personal questions about where they go to school, etc.,” Callus said.
