Assistance League chapters nationwide are holding a children’s book drive on “Make a Difference Day” on Saturday, Oct. 27. The volunteers of Assistance League of Laguna Beach are presenting books to Arthur Hasselbrink, of Homefront America, which helps military families at Camp Pendleton. Hasselbrink will give the books to the children’s library on the base.

Assistance League invites the public to a friend raiser hosted by
Jon Madison at the Madison Garden Café, 320 Coast Highway, on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 4-6 p.m. Hors d’ oeuvres, beverages and desserts will be served. The price of admission is one tax deductible “treasure” per person contribution or $25 for Assistance League’s Thrift Shop.
