Girls soccer’s begins its CIF playoff quest at 5 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Feb. 16, against Fullerton after its league winning 10-0-0 season. Boys Basketball Advances with 67-60 Win

Grady Morgan scored 23 points and Blake Burzell added 16 plus numerous assists to lead the Breakers past Pioneer High School of Whittier on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Dugger Gym in the Division 3 AA first round contest.

The higher rated Titans (19-9) brought a large contingent of fans and their scrappy fast-paced squad took an early 5-0 lead on the surprised hosts. In the end, the Titan shooters struggled and the Laguna team effort prevailed. Breakers (19-10) advance to play at Crean Lutheran (Irvine) on Friday, Feb. 17.

 

Boys Soccer Loses At Temecula Valley

Breakers dropped a 3-1 contest in the Division 5 wild card match played on Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Temecula. Laguna’s season concludes with a 6-9-4 overall record.

 

Olympian Leads Breakers Past El Toro

Senior and Olympic gold medalist Aria Fischer scored four goals and dished out three assists to lead the Breakers (28-0) past El Toro 19-4 on Wednesday, Feb. 15, before an overflow crowd at the Laguna Community Pool in the opening round of the Division 1 playoffs.

The talented athlete won her 75th consecutive water polo match when representing Laguna and was assisted by 10 other players who also scored against the visiting Chargers.

Laguna advances to the quarterfinals Saturday, Feb. 18, against Sunset League champion Los Alamitos at a pool and time to be announced before Saturday.

Should the Breakers prevail, semifinals and finals will be held next week at Irvine’s Woollett Center.
