UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts is offering a Summer Academy in the Arts from June 27 through July 8 for students finishing grades 8 – 12.
The academy will provide high quality arts instruction and experiences in a university setting.
High-school students can participate in hands-on, intensive dance, drama and digital arts workshops led by faculty and graduate students. The two-week sessions are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Fridays, with bag-lunch breaks. Sessions are geared to immersing participants in technique, philosophy, research, and performance opportunities (as appropriate).
Tuition for each two-week session is $500 (and includes all workshop materials), and the application deadline is June 10. Enrollment is limited and early registration is suggested. A 10% discount is offered to siblings enrolling together. Students should indicate their area of study when applying and select one of the following courses:
Dances: Ballet, Modern, Jazz*
Drama: Acting for Stage, Improvisation, Musical Theate
