Varied Classes Offered at Susi Q

The Susi Q Center is offering a variety of classes, discussions, and groups during the month of July.

On select Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. there will be a free science discussion group focusing on the issues, controversies, and societal impact of a variety of topics.

Twice a month the Susi Q offers a support group for senior men and women where concerns, coping skills, and helping tips are be shared.  The support group is facilitated by local LMFT, Kay Wenger and meets two Monday mornings a month from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants are offered counseling appointments one-on-one with a skilled therapist at the Susi Q or in-home in necessary, which are free for a limited time.

Create various items for local organizations including Mission Hospital’s oncology unit and the Friendship Shelter at the Susi Q Needle Art Guild. All ages and levels of knitters and crocheters are welcome to this free activity.

Everyone is welcome to attend Kay’s Quick Star Cribbage, a free introductory class to learn the basics of cribbage, which will include a basic orientation and coaching. Classes will take place Fridays, June 17 and 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Susi Q center offers a variety of free services which for the month of July include computer assistance every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., hearing aid service the first Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and hearing screening the second Thursday of every month from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
