Nurturing Plants That Heal

The public is invited to Jessica McLeish’s free workshop on Healing Foods in the South Laguna Community Garden at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12.

McLeish will share her knowledge of the healing properties of plant-based foods and how eating certain foods may help counteract ailments.

The garden is at Eagle Rock Way and Coast Highway.

Enjoy an evening in the newly renovated garden at Anneliese School in Laguna Canyon where chefs from throughout Orange County and a craft bartender will be preparing tastes of dishes highlighting items from the Ark of Taste, distinctive foods facing extinction, Saturday, April 12, 5-7 p.m.

Kids will enjoy a special cooking activity. Proceeds from this event will support future Ark of Taste garden projects.

SEEDS Arts and Education, Inc. is partnering with Slow Food Orange County to host this tasting event, 20062 Laguna Canyon Rd., $50 for adults and $45 for Slow Food members and Friends of SEEDS.

 

 

 

 

 

Free Class in Composting Techniques

A free composting class is planned for 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at Bluebird Park, 798 Bluebird Canyon Dr.

Waste Management will provide compost and worm bins available for purchase at a discounted price.
