A life-size cutout of Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was reported stolen Thursday from 1464 S. Coast Highway, site of the Laguna Beach Republican headquarters, police said.
The cutout is described as a 6’2” replica cutout of a smiling Romney in a suit, Capt. Jason Kravetz said. No one answered phones at the GOP office.
Similar thefts of political signs have plagued supporters of the Democratic Club, headquartered less than a block away from their GOP rivals. There, cutouts of the First Lady and President Obama are visible in the doorway.
Board member Nick Hernandez said Friday that a supporter had photographed a suspected culprit destroying Obama yard signs in recent weeks. He planned to turn over the photos to police.
