Ten young martial artists from Laguna Beach’s Cho’s Academy competed and medaled in tae kwon do sparring at the 21st annual KS Choi California Open, held at Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson on Saturday, Oct. 12.

About 1,000 competitors participated in the event.

The medal count by Cho’s team, ages 6 to 16, was three golds and one silver in sparring, and a school participation appreciation award.

Cho’s Academy/Lotus Yoga Laguna offers instruction in tae kwon do, yoga, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and dance and has been serving Laguna Beach since 2009.
