The Laguna Beach staff of noted local architect Mark Singer, who for 30 years has designed award winning homes, art galleries and commercial properties with a distinctive contemporary style, confirmed his death Thursday, Sept. 17.
The architect’s signature was so well known locally that shorthand property descriptions of contemporary, light-filled structures were called Singer homes even when they weren’t designed by the architect.
Real estate broker Robert Chapman says Singer told him early in February that he had caught a virus traveling in Central America, but was recovering.
