Exhibit Dives Into its Environs

The Festival of Arts is making a splash with its new exhibit at foaSouth where visitors will be surrounded by water, but not the drinking kind.

ombining the theme of water with the artistic medium of watercolors, “Selections from the Collection: The Water Show” will be on display at the gallery-yogurt shop, 1006 S. Coast Highway, until June 5.

Featured in the exhibit are pieces from the Festival of Arts permanent collection, a variety of classical and contemporary watercolors spanning the last 50 years.

An exception is an untitled vase by ceramic artist Fred Stodder,
who said, “Translucent glazes give my work a luminous and fluid appearance, reflecting light similar to water.”

Pat Sparkuhl served as exhibit curator.
