Girls Vs. Boys: The Summer Of Love

The end to summer at AR4T is a gathering of collaborative works between 56 artists from across the country. The closing reception, Friday, Aug. 19, 7-10 p.m., is free and open to the public. The exhibition, 210 N. Coast Highway, runs through Sept. 10.

Partnerships are made of one male and one female artist who have chosen each other out of mutual admiration and friendship. Combining individual talents into one unique new work is a study of trust, adventure, emotion. This show is off the hook in more ways than one, the top of the list being partnerships that might not happen again.

A winner receives kudos from a juror.

A jury made up of representatives from The PIMCO Foundation and the Festival of Arts announced prize-winning entries in the Junior Art Gallery on Sunday, Aug. 14.

More than 300 Orange County students submitted works in photography as well as two- and three-dimensional art, hung prominently near the festival’s entry throughout the summer.

PIMCO jurors Mark Porterfield, Jasmine Yrizarry and Jason Tockey as well as jurors from the Festival of Arts, Mary Aslin and Kirsten Whalen, awarded students gold, silver and bronze medals during the special award ceremony.
