Art-A-Fair opens its summer show with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26.

The exhibit includes 125 artists, many working on site. Live music is performed Thursdays through Sundays and daily art workshops taught by professional artists offered on the premises, 777 Laguna Canyon Road.

The juried fine art show is run as an artist cooperative supported by artist volunteers, many of whom work at other jobs as well. All mediums are represented.

Special events include an art and wine auction Sunday, July 12, a benefit for the Laguna College of Art & Design and an old West quick draw competition on Sunday, Aug. 9, a free challenge for artists to paint live subjects.

Local Artist Marks Summer’s Start  

Rachel’s Jewelry will be featured from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, at Mystic Arts Gallery, 664 S. Coast Highway.

For $5, guests can also watch painter Terrell Washington Anasi at work, get a henna tattoo, sample a bite, watch sand sculpture artist Jeff Sherman and hear live music.

Signature Gallery Opens Pabst Show

The Signature Gallery hosts a new series of ocean scenes and pastoral landscapes by Charles Pabst throughout June.

His daughter Cara Pabst Moran will be showing her work Thursday, July 2, during Art Walk. Enjoy with cocktails and live music from 6 to 9 p.m., 220 Forest Ave.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grant Supports Seniors Art Program

The Laguna Beach Seniors has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Festival of Arts to support the Susi Q arts program.

Its Gallery Q holds five to six public art exhibits annually, featuring artwork by various artists who would have no other opportunity to display their work. The current show is on display through July 7.

 

LCAD Summer Registration Begins

Registration is now open for Laguna College of Art + Design summer classes.

Classes include figure drawing, figure painting, figure sculpture, figure portrait drawing and painting, and a landscape painting workshop.

Figure drawing is an uninstructed Saturday class from June 21-Aug. 9. For registration and contact [email protected].
