Artists Open Their Studios to the Public

The fifth annual Laguna Beach Artist Open Studios celebration is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants may take advantage of free parking and a free shuttle service from the ACT V parking lot, located at 1900 Laguna Canyon Rd.

Observe 29 artists working in a spectrum of art media, glass blowing, fused glass, painting, printmaking and bronze lost-wax demonstrations. This is a behind the scenes process seen n an artist’s own creative space.

Laguna Outreach for Community Arts invites the public to its annual members meeting on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Sawdust Festival’s Healy House, 935 Laguna Canyon Rd.

Local artist, teacher and curator Pat Sparkuhl will reveal how personal experiences shaped his professional evolution. He shares the spotlight with LOCA co-founder Mada Leach, who will share memories about the organization’s previous 20 years.

Participants will also be treated to a silent auction and invited to buy raffle ticket for prizes.
