LOCA Reception Features Prize Drawing

Laguna Outreach for Community Arts hosts a pre-Art Walk reception at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, with printmaker Sheryl Seltzer, who will be demonstrating printmaking at Pacific Edge Hotel’s Surf Cabanas.

Reception attendees at 647 S. Pacific Coast Hwy will enjoy hospitality provided by The Deck and an opportunity drawing at 6 p.m. to win a hotel stay. Donations for tickets, $5 each, benefit the art education programs of LOCA.

 

Exhibit Hinges on the What’s Hidden

                  Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow is holding an open reception on Thursday, April 4 from 7 to 10 p.m. at 210 N. Coast Hwy during Art Walk for “Microscopic Hinges”, new works by artists and friends Russ Pope, Neil Blender, John Sollom, Hagop Najarian and Mike Myers.

The show is curated by Russ Pope, and includes smalls and medium scale works.

Aire So Fair

Salt Fine Art is hosting a month long exhibit by artist Victor Hugo Zayas entitled “Aire” with an artist reception on Thursday, April 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 492 S. Coast Hwy. Exhibit will run through Tuesday, April 30.

JoAnne Artman Gallery’s April exhibition, “Seeking Future,” exhibits new works by artist Rimi Yang.

Yang’s solo exhibition, 326 N. Coast Highway, portrays the yin and yang of life and its uncertainties.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Existence, Reclaimed

                  The Art Cube Gallery presents “Reclaimed Existence”, a three-person exhibition highlighting the work of Ferdos Maleki, William Catling and Randall Reid with an artist reception on Thursday, April 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. during Art Walk at 266 Forest Ave.

The exhibit, which will run though April 30, explores self-discovery and the awakening to the human spirit.

The Festival of Arts’ new exhibit “Figure and Faces,” is on display at the Wells Fargo Bank, 260 Ocean Ave. until April 30.

A special opening reception with the exhibiting artists will be held Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exhibit showcases diverse styles and materials of exhibitors whose work will also be on display this summer. Exhibit Features Artists of a Certain Age

The creative output of artists 55 and older is showcased in a range of mediums at Gallery Q, inside the  Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St., through May 7.

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Museum Teams Up With Youth Artists

                  The Laguna Art Museum and the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach have partnered together on two student exhibitions, “In Our Imagination” and “ImageMakers National Photography Contest: Regional Winners”, in the museum’s Young Artists Society Gallery, 307 Cliff Dr. The first exhibition is now on display; the second will be on display from April 21 until May 19.

A Comic Twist at Art Star Awards

Comedian Rita Rudner will deliver the keynote speech at the seventh annual Art Star Awards on Sunday, April 7, at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd.

During the event, awards in seven categories will be presented to organizations, businesses and individuals who have contributed and shaped the arts and culture in Laguna Beach this last year.

Avran Exhibit Exposes Abstraction in Layers

Continuing through June 2, Avran Art and Design displays Bay Area artist James C. Leonard’s exhibition “Exposing the Layers”.

The exhibit, at 540 S. Coast Highway, will feature a one-man show on the closing night, June 2, from 6-9 p.m.
