Local artists Kate Cohen, Halverson Frazier and Fred Hope will discuss techniques, inspirations and what drives them to create in a free, open-to-the public discussion at The CAP Gallery, 260 Ocean Ave.
The talk takes place at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 16, in the gallery on the second level of Wells Fargo Bank.
Family Art Day Introduces Kids to Creativity
Kids arriving at the Festival of Arts between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16, will receive a booklet of coupons redeemable for special activities and treats during Family Art Day.
Besides face painting and a marionette show, children can also participate in “Art Quest” – an art exhibit treasure hunt where they will answer kid-friendly questions by investigating different exhibits throughout the grounds.
Children 12 and under receive free admission all summer long to the Festival of Arts.

Athletes Bring Art to Life
Members of Azarian Gymnastics, special guests of Dawson Cole Fine Art, perform free in the sculpture garden Saturday, July 23, from noon to 3 p.m.
The event at 326 Glenneyre St. marks the 20th anniversary of sculptor Richard MacDonald’s “Triumph of the Human Spirit,” a monument to the 1996 Olympic Games.
