Baseball Season Ends in Second Round

Granite Hills (18-7) used an eight run outburst in the second inning to power past Laguna 14-7 last Tuesday, May 26, on a windy field in Apple Valley. The Breakers young pitching staff was unable to hold the Cougars, whose win allows them to advance to the quarterfinals.

Still Laguna finished the year surprising everyone with their fourth best record in 77 seasons and will return their pitching staff and top hitter for 2016. The team continued their unbeaten string in league play to an Orange County record 48 straight and will shoot for the Southern Section record of 58 consective league wins next season. Coach Mike Bair in four seasons is 91-22, tops among Laguna’s all time baseball skippers.
