Big Bear Wears Out Breakers 32-10

The Division 12, fifth-ranked Bears did a good job defending the Breakers, who competed under summer monsoon rain and near 7,000 feet in a loss Saturday, Sept. 9, in Big Bear.

Breakers were within one point of the Bears at 10-11 with seconds remaining in the first half when Chuy Castro pulled off a 74-yard run to widen the margin entering intermission. Breakers had scored first for the day on Noah Handel’s third field goal of the season. Overall the squad was unable to complete a number of long drives for points and were affected by the conditions in the second half.
