PMMC Fundraiser Reaches a Record

Pacific Marine Mammal Center raised a record $9,000 at its recent Martini Madness fundraiser.

Funds raised will go towards the emergency fund set up to help care for the hundreds of sea lion pups that stranded along the Orange County coastline in the last few months, resulting in the largest stranding crisis in the center’s history.

So far in 2013, over 325 sea lions have washed ashore and retrieved by Pacific Marine Mammal Center to begin rehabilitation.

Pet Rescue Raising Funds

Animal Crackers Pet Rescue has scheduled its third annual fundraiser on Wednesday, June 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mozambique Restaurant, 1740 S. Coast Highway, in Laguna Beach.

Founder Gina Kantzabedian hopes to raise funds to remodel a new location in Laguna Woods and to continue her ongoing animal rescue mission.

The evening will feature food, a silent auction, live auction and raffle.  Many local merchants, restaurants, artists and jewelers have donated items for the silent and live auctions.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 per person and may be purchased either at the door or by emailing the organization at www.animalcrackerspetrescue.org or calling the shop at 949-454-0800.
