Home Raffle Keeps Ocean Institute Afloat

Tickets are available for the 10th annual Laguna Beach Gold Coast Million Dollar Home Raffle benefiting the Ocean Institute of Dana Point, a non-profit dedicated to ocean preservation through education.

The grand prize winner, selected on Nov. 8, may choose between a Laguna Beach home and $1 million in cash. Last year’s winner, Nicholas Elias, elected to take the cash.

Tickets are $150 and 21,000 tickets will be sold. In addition to the top prize, 500 other prizes are also awarded. The early-bird deadline and drawing is midnight Thursday, Aug. 21. Early ticket buyers earn additional chances to win prizes.

Realtors Enjoy a Good Time for Good Causes

The Board of Realtors’ 19th Annual A Taste for Charity and silent art auctionon attracted over 500 guests and grossed over $100,000 for local charities.

The Community Service Programs youth shelter of Huntington Beach and the Food Pantry benefited from the “Fund-A-Need” portion of the evening.

Event chair Nancy Pooley thanked the many local vendors and artists who donated goods and services for the May 29 event.

Other beneficiaries of A Taste for Charity were First Thursday’s Art Walk, Laguna Beach Community Clinic, Laguna Beach Live!, Laguna Beach Plein Air Painters Association, Laguna Board of Realtors’ Charitable Assistance Fund, No Square Theater and the Artist’s Fund of the Festival of Arts.
