The Peter Blake Gallery hosts a closing reception for its international design exhibit from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 435 Ocean Ave.

The exhibition features international design from the late 1920s through the late 1960s, incorporating 30 museum-quality objects collected by the gallery owner and his wife.

The exhibit is the first in 23 years by the gallery, known for its focus on California Minimalism.

 

 

 

 

Softer World, an Escape from Negativity

Artists Republic showcases “Softer World,” a solo exhibition by Laura Berger.

Berger is a full time artist working mainly in acrylic and gouache, creating works that focus on the connections of humans to each other.

Berger’s paintings are whimsical and lighthearted, following her characters on their adventures in their colorful worlds. It’s a body of work that serves as an escape from negativity .

Berger’s opening reception is on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6-9 p.m., at Artists Republic, 1175 S. Coast Highway, and will coincide with the fourth annual Art & Nature festival held by the Laguna Art Museum.

 

Cove Gallery Welcomes New Artists

The Cove Gallery welcomes new artists Steve Bernstein, Nancy Roux, Peter McDonald and Julia Hayashi.

The artists’ mediums range from photography to watercolor. Meet them Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6-9 p.m. during Artwalk, at the Cove Gallery, 1492 S. Coast Highway, No. 8.
