Bobcat Hunting Laguna’s Pets

Police issued a warning today about a bobcat estimated to weigh 35 pounds that has taken up residence in Three Arch Bay and is suspected in the killing of three or four local pet cats.

When another domestic cat was seized early this morning, animal services officers responded to Vista Del Sol and attempted to tranquilize the predator hiding underneath a car parked in a driveway, but the animal fled, Lt. Jason Kravetz said.

The animal showed no fear of humans, he said.

A local expert is being contacted for assistance and warnings were posted in Three Arch Bay cautioning residents to keep their pets inside and avoid the animal until it is captured.

  1. There is a very large darker orange Bobcat that almost followed my cat through the kitchen window a couple weeks ago. No fear of humans at all.
