Newport swept Laguna 25-16, 25-22, 25-18 on Tuesday, March 1, at Dugger Gym, spoiling Laguna’s opening day. Tyler Alter led the hitters with nine kills while Pete Obradovich had eight. All-county libero Cole Paxson was stellar on defense with 14 digs. Breakers host the county’s third-ranked team, San Clemente, on Tuesday, March 8.
