Breakers scored three times in the final period to lift Laguna to a 9-6 season opening victory over El Toro last Friday, Sept. 2, at the Charger’s pool. Caden Capobianco recorded 11 saves in the cage as Trevor Lyle picked up the win in his first match as the Breaker’s 18th head coach in the sport’s 53 seasons at Laguna.
Lyle, a 2001 All-CIF selection at Laguna, replaced Ethan Damato who stepped down after eight seasons at the helm but is still staying on as the assistant. Damato will remain as he girls head coach. Laguna travels to Santa Barbara this weekend for a tournament.
