Laguna extended their league win streak to 52 with a 14-4 victory over Godinez on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at the local pool. This past weekend, the Breakers finished 13th out of 16 teams in the North South Challenge played in Atherton and Palo Alto. On Friday, Oct. 14, Breakers lost to Miramonte (Orinda) 13-10 and to Campolindo (Moraga) 10-8. On Saturday, Oct. 15, the Breakers bounced back taking co-host Gunn (Palo Alto) 13-9 and Davis 9-6.

Against Miramonte, Colton Gregory led the squad with four goals with the closest Laguna could get was a 5-5 tie in the second period. In the nightcap, Campolindo led most of the way with Laguna pulling to one at 9-8 on a Camden Benson score with just under three minutes to play. The Cougars picked up the insurance score at 2:07 remaining to ice the game.

Host Gunn gave Laguna a tough time on Saturday, Oct. 15. It wasn’t until late in the third period that Laguna could pull away from the Titans on scores by Camden Benson, Kai Cameron, and Sebastian Jacobs. In the final game, Laguna broke open the contest with a 4-0 run on Davis in the third period with goals by Larson McCarroll, Peter Weiland, Benson and Jacobs.

This past week Laguna had a non-league match with Claremont and a league match at Estancia. Next week the regular season closes out with a match at Palos Verdes on Oct. 25 and a Nov. 1 match at home with unranked Capo Valley.
