Breakers opened the 52nd season last weekend at the Fifth Annual Santa Barbara Invitational. Laguna opened play suffering a 9-7 loss to San Marcos on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Santa Barbara High School. Breakers came back on Friday, Sept. 11, to crush Cerritos 16-2 and Dos Pueblos 15-6. On Saturday, Sept. 12, at San Marcos High, Laguna defeated Gunn (Palo Alto) 11-9 before losing to Los Osos 9-7 in the nightcap.

For the tournament Jakob Colladay led all Breakers with 11 goals followed by Jeff Rubino with 9 and Luc Gregory with 7. Camden Benson, Sebatian Jacobs and Liam Shapley all contributed with five assists each. Benson led all players with 12 steals and Gordon Pike was in the cage.

Breakers hosted El Toro this past Thursday, Sept. 17, and will be having a JV tournament at the local pool Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19. League play starts with Costa Mesa at home Thursday, Sept. 30.
