Laguna finished 15th out of 32 teams in the annual South Coast Water Polo Tournament that featured all the top So Cal teams. Playing at CdM, Breakers defeated Riverside Poly (D3 #3) 13-11 on Thursday, Sept. 22, but dropped the nightcap to Corona Del Mar (D1 #5) 12-6. On Friday, Sept. 23, Laguna lost to Santa Barbara (D1 #10) 10-4 and on Saturday, Sept. 24, to Bishop’s of La Jolla 10-9. Breakers defeated Long Beach Wilson (D2 #5) 11-9 in the final game.

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the Breakers defeated their CIF division rival Santa Margarita 9-8 in double overtime. Laguna hosts # 4 Murrieta Valley this Saturday, Oct. 1, at noon at the Laguna Community Pool in what should be a real physical contest.
