Breaker Season Ends as Crusaders Rally in Semifinals.

Laguna traveled to Sun Valley in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday, Nov. 17 to face top seed Village Christian Crusaders in the D-2 AA semifinals match. After a slow start losing set one 25-23, Breakers controlled the tempo winning the next two sets 25-19, 25-21. Down 6-4 in the fourth, Laguna went to a 6-2 offense scheme, hoping for a spark. The move didn’t click and the squad was out-scored 9-2. Returning to the 5-1 lineup, the Breakers rallied to tie the set at 23 but could not close it out, losing 25-23 and forcing a fifth game. Breakers rallied in that one with a number of late tie scores before losing the set and match 15-13.
