Pacific Marine Mammal Center raised over $140,000 and netted $128,000 at its Saturday, Sept. 30 Cabaret fundraiser at Aliso Creek Inn. The event, which sold out three months in advance, was attended by over 200 people and paid tribute to the Pacific Life Foundation for their long time support of the organization. Funds raised will go towards PMMC’s animal care and education operations.

“We are touched and honored to have had such strong support from the community for this momentous occasion,” said Melissa Sciacca, the center’s development director.

Floral arrangements and table accents were donated by Laguna Nursery, Ron Dier, and  John Barber. The event showcased 70 live auction items, including trips and artwork by local artists, including Michael Obermeyer, Kathy Jones, David Milton, and more. One lucky winner won a 10 day cruise to anywhere! Live piano entertainment was provided by Roxanna Ward, who kept the crowd howling with laughter and singing along.
