Campers Transform into Heroes, Bug Detectives

Cho’s Academy is offering a series of summer camps for kids, focusing on fitness, creativity, yoga and outdoor activities. 

At superhero camp, from Aug. 8-12, children will connect with real life local heroes as well as participate in a beach party, birthday party, martial arts, meditation, games, mask making and a superhero challenge.

The seeing outside camp, Aug. 15-18, includes trail and beach hikes, a gallery walk through town, visits to the Festival of the Arts and an artist studio.

During the western retreat, Aug. 19-21, kids will campout watching western movies, create tooled leather, join cooking, go on balloon rides, hike, or participate in optional horseback riding.

SEEDS Offers Classes at Anneliese’s

 

SEEDS Arts and Education, Inc. is offering classes this month at Anneliese Schools’ Willowbrook Campus, 20062 Laguna Canyon Road.

 

Aug. 8-12, Books & Paper, for kindergartners and above. Participants will be recycling and making paper, learning a little book history and binding their own books. $250 part time; $300 full time.

 

Aug. 13, Daddy & Me: Bug Detectives, $25 (includes child and parent), for ages 3-8. Dads and kids will become “bug scene investigators” in this hands-on workshop that explores the life cycle, habitats and benefits of bugs.

 

Aug. 29-Sept. 2, Life Cycles in our World, for first graders or older. If a bird poops in the forest, do the trees hear it? Those who want to find out should sign up.
