Gallimaufry Performing Arts is offering workshops for young adults aged 16 and over with film casting and directing agents on Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Boys and Girls Club, 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.
Hollywood hopefuls wishing to pursue a professional career will gain valuable insight from casting director Eric Soultiere, who will conduct the $165 workshop.
The workshop will consist of auditioning, cold reading, industry tips and Q&A. The audition technique segment will focus on cold-readings. The participants will be paired up and given scenes to read. They will perform them for the casting director and receive valuable feedback. The industry tips segment will explain to the actors what is expected of them, what the casting directors are looking for, how to build a relationship with casting directors and how to avoid scams. Participants are encouraged to bring their headshots and resumes for the industry tips segment to get feedback and suggestions. Participants are also asked to prepare questions for the Q&A.
