Singer Sheryl Crow performed at this year’s sold out SeaChange Summer Party, held last week at a private Laguna Beach home and attended by 400 guests who kicked in $1 million for Oceana, an ocean conservation organization.

Actor and longtime Oceana board member Ted Danson walked the blue carpet with wife Mary Steenburgen, mingled with guests and shared his passion for protecting the ocean with the crowd.

The event honored ocean champions Philippe Cousteau, Oceana senior advisor Alexandra Cousteau, and James L. Connaughton, a former Bush advisor on energy, environment and natural resources.

The highlight of the auction was lively bidding for a seven-day Caribbean voyage on Hemisphere, the world’s largest recreational catamaran.

Oceana’s chief executive Andy Sharpless told supporters, “An abundant ocean is an achievable goal. If we can stop overfishing in the waters of just 10 countries, more than two thirds of the world’s ocean fish catch can be delivered to the future – healthy and abundant.”
