Hey! Ho! Time to Go … to Cheer School

Learn a cheer, chant and dance with the Laguna Beach High School varsity cheerleaders at a cheer clinic Saturday, Oct 29.

Participants will perform with cheerleaders at the LBHS vs. Calvary Chapel home football game Friday, Nov. 4. The award-winning Laguna Beach cheer team received top honors at the Universal Cheerleading Association camp in Palm Desert over the summer. Laguna took home three team trophies and four individual ones.

Clinic registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the clinic is from 9 a.m. to noon at the LBHS Dugger Gym, which is located on St. Ann’s Drive. The cost is $60 in advance and $65 at the door. The fee includes instruction, a Laguna cheer t-shirt, hair bow, pom poms, snack, water and fun!

Parents Return to the Classroom

Guest speaker and author Alfie Kohn will discuss how to raise children to become generous, responsible people at a 9 a.m. talk Thursday, Oct. 27, at Hotel Laguna, 425 S Coast Highway.

The talk is sponsored by Seeds Education. The cost is $10 for members and $20 for the public. Register at www.seedsed.org

 

Saxophone Quartet Entertains Boys and Girls Club

The Encore Saxophone Quartet performed for members of the Boys and Girls Club as part of an educational outreach program by Laguna Beach Live! on Thursday, Oct. 13.

Exploring the various sounds of the saxophone, the musicians performed a wide range of classical, jazz, and original works. That evening, the quartet performed at the Laguna Art Museum.
