Performances Cap Off the School Year
Music and art students in Laguna Beach schools prepare for a full program of spring performances in the coming week, which are free and open to the public.
The high school concert band performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in the on-campus Artists’ Theatre. In the same venue and time the following night, Wednesday, June 6, the Thurston Middle School concert band shows off its accomplishments.
A art exhibit, featuring work of student artists from kindergarten to graduating seniors, will be displayed in the high school quad along with art activities, performances and refreshments from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 7. An hour after the art show ends, choral singers return to the high school theatre for their spring concert at 7 p.m., also Thursday, June 7.
Barefoot Golfers Play a Round for Students
The recent 3 Clubs Barefoot Canyon Classic golf tournament raised $42,000, which will benefit Laguna Beach schools through SchoolPower.
More than 70 golfers took part in the Monday, May 7, contest underwritten by The Ranch at Laguna Beach, which was followed by a reception and dinner. All of the profits will go to SchoolPower, a statement says.
Thanks for mentioning the Barefoot event – please note that all the funds raised (every dime) went directly to School Power. Not just the profits!
