Workshop Slated on Use of Internet
Use of the Internet will be the focus of a district workshop for parents on Tuesday, June 5, in the high school library at 9:30 a.m.
This workshop looks at: appropriate use of social networking sites, the dangers within chat rooms and instant messaging, as well as how parents can address these and other dangers with their child.
Harvard Bound!
Laguna Beach’s Katharine Barton will join the class of 2016 in Cambridge’s Harvard College this fall. She will join 1,600 students selected from a pool of more than 34,000 applicants from all 50 states and from countries around the world.
Students Invest in Saving Seals
Students of St. Cecilia’s School in Tustin raised nearly $650 for Laguna Beaach’s Pacific Marine Mammal Center and for their efforts will be invited to a seal release.
Countywide, about 200 students raised nearly $3,000 earlier this year for the center’s efforts caring for recovering seals and sea lions at 20612 Laguna Canyon Road.
The “Change the Life of a Seal” challenge will begin again in the fall.
