Scholarship winner Alia Manetta with Business Club member Diana Cimino.

Young entrepreneur Alia Manetta landed herself the $1,000 Laguna Beach Business Club scholarship at the recent Laguna Beach High School Honors Convocation for her successful fruit canning business. The club’s membership consists of professionals who live or work within the community.

Alia’s food canning business began when the student began growing and canning her own local produce and selling it around town. After several years, it has become a booming business with deliveries twice a week. Alia will be a freshman at UCLA in the fall and plans on branching out into another fruitful career, this time, in medicine.
