Dancers Reach for a New Bar

Laguna Beach High School seniors who will study dance or dance professionally are eligible to apply for a newly established Laguna Dance Festival scholarship.

“We created a $1,000 fund as a way to further carry out our mission to develop, support and inspire young artists and dance educators,” Executive Director Joy Dittberner said in a statement. “It also signals a new maturity in our nonprofit. Our 11-year-old organization is dedicated to rounding out the artistic offerings in our city, and we are sincere in our desire to nurture local talent.”

Artistic director and founder Jodie Gates said, “This is one more way to show our commitment to the next generation of artistic innovators.”

Applications can be found under the “Career Emphasis” scholarship section in the Laguna Beach High School Scholarship Foundation’s site www.lbhssf.org.
