Nice article by James Utt.
He is really growing as a writer.
However, I do not see the necessity of making his article about a fire political in nature: i.e., “Rohrabacher-red CDM”.
It’s like the actors who ruin a perfectly good awards show by tossing in their personal opinion about politics. They need to find their own platform.
If Mr. Utt wants to write a political article – then please accept his writing – just do it as an “op-ed” … not a sometime “Heart Talk” column writer in your paper.
Op-ed let’s the reader know it is political and they can make a choice about whether or not to read it.

Great LTE, and completely agree. Same goes for a number of the other columnists too, as well as the less than balanced reporting on “city affairs.”
