Editor,
If one has any doubts about the anti-gun bias of the national media, compare their treatment of the knives that provided excruciatingly painful deaths to three students at Isla Vista with their vehement focus on the guns that killed the other three.
Nowadays, the news is no longer about facts, but about advocacy. NBC national news talks about “the shooting rampage that killed six,” carefully obscuring the fact that only three were shot. Even Senator Barbara Boxer has the gall to show pictures of all six victims and use “these victims of a mass shooting” as support for more gun control. When our national leaders lie (or at least stretch the truth) in support of their own personal agenda, it is no wonder than no one trusts the government
Even poor, Mr. Martinez, in his grief, is following the traditional pattern of anti-gun zealots in this country, trying to punish millions of law abiding citizens for the actions of a few and blame gun owners for the failures of our mental-health and law enforcement systems. He too seems all too willing to stretch the truth and exploit the three deaths by stabbing as further justification for banning guns. How out of touch can one be?
