Cross Country


The boys cross-country team opened their season at the Great Cow Run in Cerritos. Luc La Montagne was Laguna’s top runner out of 38 who ran a 15:39.13 in the three-mile as the varsity finished 20th overall out of 35 teams. Loyola was the champion. As a team, Laguna Beach took top honors in the small school sweepstakes, jv and sophomore small school divisions and second place among freshman in the small school division.

The girls also ran in this event with the varsity finishing 14th out of 28 teams overall. Long Beach Poly was the champ. Top Laguna runner was Ana Kelly with an 18:50.94 on the 3-mile course.

Up next weekend is the Morro Bay run for the boys while the girls are scheduled to run in Laguna Hills.
