Laguna Beach High School boys and girls cross country teams took first place in the Division IV novice races at the 34th Annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic last Friday, Sept. 19, at the Great Park in Irvine. The freshman boys came away with a third place finish.

On the same course under the lights on Saturday night, Laguna senior Cameron Zuziak ran a 15:02 to place 55th out of 182 runners across all divisions at the invitation-only Doug Speck Sweepstakes Race. It was a personal record for Zuziak, and the third fastest time in school history for three miles.

The rest of Laguna’s varsity runners had the week off after a successful trip to Minnesota last week for the Lucky Lindy Invitational, where the girls finished first and the boys second.
